JOEY BELTRAM -
2010 IS ENERGY FLASH 20TH ANNIVERSARY

Last year was a Beatport top 10 remix of Oliver Huntemann and massive gigs including Berghain, Fabrik, the Loft, Ministry, matter, and huge festivals from Awakenings to Play the Music to Bonusz.  Release wise, it was raves from Bodzin, Beyer, Lekebusch, The Advent, Marco Bailey, Agoria, Kyle Gieger, Joel Mull, Xpansul, Gabriel Ananda, Joseph Capriati, Sei A and more for huge vinyl releases on Drumcode, Harthouse, MB Elektronik, Process, plus new remixes just out on Signaltek and Circle.

In 2010?  The first half will be the first releases on Joey's new label East78.  Then in September it's the 20th anniversary of Energy Flash with a compilation, a book of Joey's early days as a tagger in New York, a very surprising choice of remixer for the Flash re-release, and a number of other projects coming alongside a mammoth "JB and friends" tour ...

ABE DUQUE -
LIVE AND ON ACID

Abe's 2009 was all about his album DON'T BE SO MEAN, with a 30+ date tour including DJ T's 40th at Panorama, Tresor's 18th birthday, the Rex, Fabrik, Rote Sonne, We Love... Space Ibiza, Club on the Roof Moscow, Footworkbar Toronto, Cielo, Aquasella Festival Spain and more.  The album still has remixes coming from John Digweed and Nick Muir, Huntemann and Jay Haze's remake of Abe's classic Disco Nights, as well as the release of the winners of the Residentadvisor remix competition for Abe and Blake Baxter's classic "What Happened?"  Abe's also got five new remixes out or just about out - DJ Hell's upcoming Wonderland on Gigolos, Remute's Crackin' Skulls (Tresor), Daniel Meteo's In the Mood on Shitkatapult, Savas Pascalidis Deep Inside Your Eyes (Sweatshop), and Jon Virtue's Breadsnapper on Aciitone.

2010, meanwhile, will see Abe's new compilation LIVE AND ON ACID out in May - one side his legendary live show and the other a collection of acid-house classics from the Limelight days alongside the return of Abuse Industries, his night with artist Andy Orel.

MAX COOPER
"TAKE ME AS I AM" - #7 ON ELECTRONICA CHART

Last week he went to #4 on Beatport's electronica chart with his remix of Take Me As I Am by indie darlings Au Revoir Simone, and #11 in the minimal chart with more dancefloor number InhaleExhale.

But the biggest news for Max in late '09 was his "Serie" releases on Traum - two tracks informed by his day job as a genetics researcher and which featured collaborative videos by animator Whiskas fX.

The Harmonisch Serie and Stochastisch Serie videos have now passed 60K views on youtube, and in April Max will release the third and final track Chaotisch Serie - alongside the remixes he's just handed in for Hot Chip and DJ Hell...
